WASHINGTON, DC—The Pentagon announced Monday that 80 percent of Osama bin Laden's seconds-in-command have been eliminated. "Nearly 1,600 al-Qaeda leaders ranked number two have been wiped out," Lt. Col. Mark Allison said. "That leaves only 400 of Osama bin Laden's right-hand men in the organization." Following the apparent failure to kill bin Laden's No. 2 man Ayman al-Zawahri in a missile strike on a Pakistani border town on Jan. 13, American forces intensified the search for al-Qaeda second-in-command Ahmed Al-Zahnami, or, failing that, No. 2 man Amman al-Zaharani, or No. 2 man Ahmed al-Zafarani.

Now that Bush has used the phrase addicted to oil maybe he can give credit to the folks on the left that have been talking about this for five years or more.

Anyone that thinks that the left doesn't have any good ideas about this, probably hasn't heard about The Apollo PAC. Why should we be getting energy from the Mid-East, when we could get it from the Mid-West?

Sadly, there hasn't been an update since the '04 election. But it does illustrate yet another issue where Kerry was way ahead of Bush.

This same group of liberal bloggers wants to take the playbook they used to move Democrats left and apply it to the media. Conservatives might seem baffled, perhaps asking, "The media, composed overwhelmingly of Democrats, isn't liberal enough for them?" Well, if the Democratic Party isn't liberal enough, then the media with its small contingent of Republicans obviously needs a major leftward adjustment.

This is a great slam against the left, to bad its isn't true. Liberal bloggers aren't trying to push the media to the left. They are trying to get the Media to stop treating every story as a he said/she said.

Then there are groups like Media Matters that monitor GOP lies and distortion in the mainstream media. Here are the National Reviews gaffs and distortions.
